- Meet in a busy public place — bazaar, thana gate, or a FindFlash volunteer point.
- Bring a friend, and tell someone where you are going.
- Verify ownership first: ask for a detail only the owner could know (wallpaper, engraving, contents).
- Never pay 'release money'. Genuine finders don't demand payment before showing the item.
- For documents and phones, prefer handover at a police station.
- Keep all communication inside the app so there is a record.
